# Privacy Policy

Untethered-LLM is designed to run locally on your device.

## What We Process

- Chat messages, attachments, exports, imported models, and settings are processed and stored locally inside the app sandbox.
- When you import a supported file, photo, video, audio recording, or other attachment, the app accesses only the item you choose so it can make a local copy for on-device use.
- If you import a GGUF model, that model stays stored locally until you delete it.

## What We Do Not Collect

- No account creation
- No analytics or telemetry
- No advertising identifiers
- No remote inference
- No background uploads
- No sale of personal data

## Sharing and External Services

- The app shares data only when you explicitly export, share, import, or open content through Apple system flows such as Files, Photos, or the iOS share sheet.
- If you choose to send data to another app, cloud provider, or Apple service, that party's terms and privacy practices apply after the transfer.

## Permissions

- The app requests access to Photos or Files only when needed for the action you selected.
- If you choose audio transcription for a supported file, the app may request Speech Recognition permission so transcription can run on-device.
- You can revoke those permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

## Data Retention and Deletion

- Saved chats remain local until you delete them or use `Clear all chats`.
- Attachment caches remain local until removed or you use `Clear attachment cache`.
- Imported model files remain local until deleted or you use `Clear model cache`.
- If chat history is turned off, new chats are not written to disk.
- When you clear data in the app, the app is intended to remove the corresponding local files from its storage.

## Security

- Data is stored inside the iOS app sandbox, and local files use file protection where supported.
- No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be 100 percent secure.

## Children's Privacy

- The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

## Changes to This Privacy Policy

- We may change or update this Privacy Policy at any time.
- If we materially change how the app handles data, we will update this policy in the app before or when the change ships.
