Short answers to the questions people actually ask. If yours isn't here, write to us — a person reads every message.
Using the app
- Open the Chats tab and start a new conversation.
- Type your question — or attach a file first and ask about that.
- Pick your model in Settings: the built-in default, the fallback, or one you imported.
- Export a chat only when you want a copy outside the app. Delete it when you don't.
Questions people ask
- Do my chats leave my phone?
- No. Chat runs on-device with no account and no cloud relay. The only network use is the App Store itself — and anything you deliberately share or export.
- Which model comes with the app?
- Huihui Qwen3 4B Abliterated (Q4_K_M) is the built-in default, with Qwen3 4B (Q5_K_M) as a second model and SmolLM2 135M as the fallback for older phones. All three are Apache 2.0 licensed, and all run fully offline.
- Can I use my own model?
- Yes — import any compatible GGUF file up to about 6B parameters. The Models page lists eight we've checked against iPhone RAM budgets.
- What files can it read?
- Common documents, spreadsheets, presentations, PDFs, images, audio, and video. Text is extracted on-device; images and media get local analysis, not cloud vision.
- How do I delete my data?
- Swipe to delete a single chat, or use Settings to clear all chats, attachment caches, or downloaded models. Deletion removes the local files from the app sandbox.
- Can I lock an export?
- Yes. Exports are plain text or Markdown, and you can protect one with a passphrase. Write the passphrase down somewhere safe — the app never stores it, so a forgotten passphrase means a locked file.
